Ski holidays Kössen - the holiday experience!

The impressive massifs of both Wilder and Zahmer Kaiser form the spectacular setting for the region of Kaiserwinkl with its winter sports resorts. The region which is directly on the border to Germany has recently developed into a true winter sport paradise. In total, 30 kilometres of piste provide an attractive range for skiers as well as snowboarders. The longest of these pistes measures 7 km and has a difference in altitude of over 1,100 m! Cross-country skiers will find all types of cross-country trails on one of Europe's largest cross-country trail networks. Along with this there is excellent après ski and a wide range of leisure activities. Kössen - the holiday experience!

Centrally located Kössen (589 m) is Kaiserwinkel’s main resort. The cosy Tyrolean village is located north of the Unterberghorn and offers everything a winter sports fan’s heart desires. Kössen is especially suited for families and relaxed skiers, as well as for cross-country skiers. The self-named “family ski area” doesn’t only offer fun on the slopes. The lively centre invites guests to take a stroll or visit restaurants or cafes. Cosy huts are perfect for bringing the evening to an end. Action freaks can take advantage of snow tubing or paragliding, as well.

Après ski
You will definitely get your money's worth with après ski in Walchsee and Kössen. In the "Londoner", at the "Erwin", and many others, you will get everything that belongs to apres ski - for a decent price! The "Liftstüberl" in Walchsee invites you in to party. You should also try out local cuisine, such as Kaiserschmarrn, typical Kössisch trout or grilled goat ribs. A further highlight in Kaiserwinkel is the ballooning week in Walchsee, where you will be amazed by some of the balloon forms, and can watch the professionals race! Also highly recommended is night skiing on floodlit pistes. Light ski touring destinations or even snow biking courses are offered in Schwendt, which promise hours packed full of action.
