Ski holidays Matrei/East Tyrol - insider tip in the south of Austria!

The area around Matrei is bordered by the idyllic backdrop of the two largest mountains in Austria and the natural landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The Großglockner (3,798 m) and Großvenediger (3.674 m) sit enthroned over the region - mountain scenery which is difficult to surpass! Through the integration of the two ski areas, pure enjoyment is offered to skiers on 110 km of piste. All of this is offered away from mass tourism and hype in one of the snow sure areas in the Alps. In total, 16 lifts carry you comfortably up to an altitude of 2,621 m, from where you can see a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. Alongside the fun on skis, you can toboggan through the winter landscape or relax in the indoor pool. And at the end of a long day's skiing, you can let yourself be spoilt with regional specialities in restaurants and guest houses!
