The two, rather calm villages Obergurgl (1,930 m) and Hochgurgl (2,150 m) are to be found at the end of the Ötz Valley on the high alpine road to the Timmelsjoch. In the midst of this beautiful mountain scenery quality beats quantity – especially in Hochgurgl: The exclusive hotel village is made up of just six hotels. Obergurgl is traffic-reduced, at night all driving is completely forbidden! Doorstep skiing is possible in both resorts. The landscape is marked by the surrounding glacier scenery and the impressive mountain views. The atmosphere here is very quaint and the villages are renowned for their hut tradition with evenings spent in the huts and après ski.
