The Europe Sport Region is one of the most well-known and important holiday regions in all of Austria. It's situated in the middle of the wonderful Salzburger Land, surrounded by the peaks of the Kitzsteinhorn ski area (3,203 m), Schmitenhöhe (2,000 m) and Maiskogel (1,675 m). Hohen Tauern is integrated in the Europe Sport Region for total winter fun. The main resort, Zell, is romantically situated on the lake and Kaprun, 7 km away, offers everything needed for a perfect winter holiday. In addition to the varied - and through the Kitzsteinhorn glacier - very snow-secure pistes, the region also offers guests an ample leisure and après ski programme. At the edge of the Hohe Tauern National park, in the southern part of the Salzburger Land, Bruck lies on the Großglockner road between Lake Zeller and the Großglockner massif. Very close by is the sporting centre of Kaprun. The ideal winter sports village is distinguished by its close proximity to the international Europa Sport Region Zell am See/Kaprun. The village became well-known as the exit point of the Großglockner high alpine road, which finds its point of departure here with kilometre "0". Further sights to see are the Kitzsteinhorn with the glacial ski area and the Tauernkraftwerke hydro-electric plants in Kaprun.
